Fatty liver grades are based on the amount of fat in the liver.

Grade 0- The liver is completely normal and healthy.

Grade 1- The liver has up to 2% fat, but this is not harmful.

Grade 2- The liver has between 2 and 5% fat. This is not harmful.

Grade 3- The liver has between 5 and 25% fat. This is serious but not life-threatening.
