Dutasteride belongs to 5-alpha-reductase inhibitors and is used in benign prostatic hyperplasia. They prevent the formation of Dihydrotestosterone which is responsible for prostate enlargement. Common side effects include painful or enlarged breasts, erection and ejaculation issues, reduced sperm count, and sex drive. It also increases the risk of developing prostate cancer.
