Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am in my mid-forties. Is it generally safe to take the tablet Doxylamine succinate 7.5 mg five times a week for the long term? I do not have any allergies. I have been taking it for three years now, thrice a week, and I am very satisfied with it. It is the best sleep intervention for me and I have tried literally everything (CBT strategies, ACT strategies, and melatonin. I take a low dose of the tablet Lorazepam twice a week and I do not intend to continue it). I am neurotic. I have chronic GI issues, mild anxiety, and depression (I am on the capsule Fluoxetine as well), but otherwise healthy and fit.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Doxylamine succinate is an antihistamine and helps in sound sleep so you can continue using it.

Along with it, the following lifestyle modifications need to do:

1) Brisk walk or exercise for six days per week.

2) Think positive. Be thankful for good things in life and give thanks to everyone.

3) Take life easy.

Hope it helps you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
