Bacteremia

Bacteremia is a condition where there is the presence of bacteria in the blood. Dental or medical procedures, injection of recreational drugs, vigorous tooth brushing, bacterial infections, etc., can lead to bacteremia. If bacteremia is left unnoticed, it may lead to sepsis or septic shock. Antibiotics are used in the treatment of bacteremia.
