Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have had PCOD for two years, and I am taking Kazharchikkai powder along with five pepper and honey daily. However, I got married last month and have an irregular and delayed menstrual cycle. Do I need to take any other medication along with this to manage the ovarian cyst?

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Delayed periods may be due to various reasons, including hormonal issues, a new environment, stress, and psychological factors. So, no need to worry about this. Instead, I suggest you follow these measures. (consult a specialist doctor, talk with them and take medications with their consent).

1. You can continue taking Kazharchikkai powder (Caesalpinia Bonducella) along with pepper and honey. Add fried Asafoetida (Ferula Asafoetida) also. You can continue this until the menstrual cycle is regular. During the menstrual bleeding time, stop using this drug. Then, after the 4th day of the menstrual cycle, you can start it again. Like this, you may continue for three regular menstrual cycles for better ovary health.

2. Take Vaankumari Legiyam (Aloe vera, Cinnamon, Almonds, Gulkhand) one spoon twice daily before food to strengthen the uterus and ovary and regularize the periods. You can get it from a nearby Siddha or Ayurveda Medical Shop.

3. Take Vendhaya kali (fenugreek pudding) as a morning snack and Ulundhu kali (back urad dal pudding) as an evening to prepare the endometrium for conception. You can refer to the internet for recipes.

You continue the above suggestions for a minimum of three months, and once the menstrual cycle starts, stop these medications for 3 to 4 days. Then, from the 4th day onwards, again start all these medications. After the first menstrual cycle, continue the above medicines for nearly three more cycles (months). During these three months, you can try for conception.

You can contact me for further consultation if you have any queries.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello,

Thank you for your response.

How to take fried Asafoetida along with the other medicine? When to take the Vankumari Legiyam? Is it the morning or evening time?

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern. I suggest the following measures (consult a specialist doctor, talk with them and take medications with their consent). Buy Asafoetida, fry it in an iron vessel without oil, and powder it. Mix 0.89 oz of this fried powdered Asafoetida with 3.57 oz of Karachi kai powder. Then, as usual, you can consume with pepper and honey. Vaankumari Legiyam (Aloe vera, Cinnamon, Almonds, Gulkhand) is to be taken in the morning and evening (30 minutes before breakfast and dinner). If you have constipation after taking the medicines, take one Siddhadhi Ennai (Thippili, Karun, Seeragam) capsule daily before bed.

Thank you.
