Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis before five years. Now, I am taking an injection of Glataxone to manage my problem. I do not have any inflammation in my spine. I have severe dorsal spine muscle spasms or tightness in my right abdomen for more than six months. The neurologist told me that it is caused due to disrupted signals from the brain. I have tried many muscle relaxants for the last six months but it did not help me. I have also tried to use many ayurvedic oils and it caused me more pain. I am finding it tough to handle it. Please advise some Siddha or ayurvedic medicines to relax my abdomen muscle. Previously, I had multiple sclerosis including numbness. But this is the first time for me to have spasms. I am attaching my MRI scan reports.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Multiple sclerosis usually shows slow improvement. We can stop the disease progression by taking Siddha or Ayurveda drugs. You have muscle spasms in the abdomen due to lower motor neuron issues. It means that brain signals are not reaching muscle tissue. In Siddha, we give Semecarpus Anacardium-based drugs. It helps to prevent further disease progression and it reverses the neurological damage. I suggest you take capsule Nandhi mezhugu one capsule in the morning and evening after food and Serankottai nei 0.06 fluid ounces. Mix it with 1.01 fluid ounces of boiled cow milk and consume it in the morning and evening after food. These two drugs have immunomodulation properties and so it prevents the severity of such autoimmune diseases. You can take these medicines along with your allopathy medicines after consulting your doctor. You can use horse gram powder 7.05 ounces for external use. You can apply the powder to the affected area and massage it with your hands or fingers. This powder can relax the muscles. Reversal of 100 percent is not possible with your currently available therapies.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Can I continue taking my daily injection along with these medicines? I also have constipation. How long will it take to come back to normal? Can I take them continuously or do I need to consult you again after a month? Please suggest.

Answered by Dr. Arul Amuthan L

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

For constipation, you can take Bhavana kadukkai tablet. Keep the tablet in the mouth and swallow it with the secreted saliva. Do it three times after taking food. You need to do it for many months or years. Nandhimezhugu and serankottai can be taken for three to six months. After ten days, you can stop taking it for three days. Then again continue taking it for the next ten days. In a month, three times of drug-free days should be followed to avoid having adverse effects. while taking these drugs, you need to take more curd and buttermilk. You can see improvement after a month. You can continue taking these medicines for six months. There is no need to stop taking allopathy drugs. Based on its improvement in three months, we can think of its further course of action.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I want to know about the chemical action of Nandhi mezaghu and serankottai nei. How does it act on the brain to give signals? How ti reduces spasm? I have blood pressure. Can I take Siddha tablet along with Tenolol 25 mg daily? I am a non-vegetarian. Is there any diet restriction on taking Siddha medicines? What kind of fruits and vegetables to be taken to improve my health condition?

Answered by Dr. Arul Amuthan L

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

For blood pressure, you can continue taking Atenolol. There is some diet restriction while taking Siddha therapy. You need to reduce taking salt, chicken, matured brinjal, and sour tasted foods (tomato and tamarind). Instead of tamarind, you can use Malabar tamarind. Taking lemon juice and amla is good. During this treatment, you need to take more curd and buttermilk. Mutton, country chicken, and fishes can be taken. There is no restriction on fruits. Eat atleast 1.7 ounces of fruits daily at night. You can take Lumbatone plus and Artiban forte to reduce your vatha related problems. They help in reducing pain and nerve inflammation.

But Semecarpus based Siddha drugs can help you a lot. Artiban forte helps to reduce your anxiety. Atenolol is the best drug to reduce your anxiety. Try to avoid taking Nexito forte as it makes you addicted to it. In Siddha, try to keep your body and eyes to get good sleep. You can use Kulir thaaramai thailam or Brahmi thailam or Ashwagantha thailam or Dil oil. Take any one of these oils. Apply it on the head and do a minor massage on your head and skin. Wait for an hour and take bath.

Try to this every day or on alternative days to get good sleep. During the evening, take bath below your head with warm water. You can practice yoga. You can buy Siddhathi ennai. Take 3.5 ounces of jeera or sombu. Boil it in 6.7 fluid ounces of water. Reduce it to 1.35 fluid ounces. This is called jeera or sombu kashayam. Take 0.33 fluid ounces of Siddhathi ennai with 1.35 fluid ounces of jeera or sombu kashayam. Drink it on an empty stomach before 6 am. It can cause diarrhea. Take only curd rice or curd or buttermilk during this day. This helps to purify your body. You can take it once a month.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Does Nandhi mezaghu contains any metal ingredients? Is it safe to take Serakottai nei with Nandhi mezaghu? Does it act on the nervous system to reduce muscle spasms? Can I take a Himalaya bael tablet or Sorbeline Ayurveda syrup instead of a Bhavana kadukkai tablet? I feel difficult to keep it in my mouth for a long time during working hours. Please suggest an alternative medicine.

Answered by Dr. Arul Amuthan L

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Bhavana kadukkai is best for you. Otherwise, you can just consume more curd. Take fruits as snacks. Nandhi mezaghu has a fewer amount of metals. During its preparation process, metals get changed into non-toxic ones. Thus it does not cause any toxicity. But the side effects of allopathy medicines are high than this drug. Serankottai does not have any metals. It has only Semecarpus herbals processed in cow ghee and milk.
