Acetabular component is Anteroverted (Orthopedician and Traumatology)

Honey Nandwani., BDS

Medical Case Details:

My uncle had a CT scan of his left hip due to instability and pain. Had hip replaced 3 years ago. The CT scan read acetabular component is anteroverted. What does this mean? Does he need to see an orthopedic. It is hard for him to walk up steps and walk for any distance without hurting!!

Can you just post the pics of CT scan plates so that I can see what it means???
Ante version of acetabular component after 3 years may be due to osteolysis with secondary loosening of implant and if major it can lead to dislocation of implanted hip which may require revision hip surgery.....avoid hip flexion above 60-80.....thanks
