No doubt it is a challenging matter especially in this era of smart devices.
Outdoor activities help reduce myopia by
1. Forcing children to focus on distant objects..
2. Good exposure to Vit. D which helps stop the increase in axial length of the globe.
According to studies Nutrition doesnt seems to play a major role
How ever results of 0.1%atropine seems good in controlling the progression of myopia
Yes promoting out door activitoes has some role
I agree with all the above comments. Other than these, I would like to say, Physostigma, well known homeopathic remedy to control the Myopia. I have seen great results from this remedy.
When it comes to the question of personal care we cannot forget the role of vitamins and mineral which today's food generally lack.. so a good amount of nutritional supplement should help...
Plus there are some exercises and especially yogasanas which are known to control the myopia like shirsanas.. and halasanas,
Also Some homoeopathic medicines like Ruta graveolens, Physostigma etc.... have shown wonderful results... and can be used... especially when they have no known side effects..and very much based on nature's law....
We also should not forget the basic care like avoiding over straining of eyes by using mobiles and laptops, in case one has to then take short breaks and focus on a distant object for few minutes.. and take warm and cold compression to eyes,...
Also using a good wind shield or helmet while riding and using a good sun glasses when going out.. helps...
Hello ,
As far as I know , according to ATOM study 1 and 2 .the only medication which can help in pathological myopia is atropine0.01% and physostigmine. No other nutritional element can help in myopia.
I don’t think nutrition and environmental issues have any say in myopia modification once it has occurred
